Two men who held a driver at gunpoint and relieved him of his car on Monday were nabbed in the Alexander village area on Tuesday afternoon with the stolen car.
Both men are in Police custody and charges are expected to be filed against them before the end of the week.
The owner of the car had just stepped out of his vehicle on Monday afternoon to visit his mechanic in Bishop Street, Georgetown and as he returned his car, he felt a gun pressed to his head and he was shoved aside as the two men grabbed his keys and made off with the vehicle.
The young man was left shocked and shaken by the carjacking, but quickly filed a police report. Stations across the city and neighbouring areas were alerted and late on Tuesday afternoon, the car was spotted with the same two bandits nearby.
They were immediately arrested and the owner of the car was contacted and positively identified the two men as he provided a statement.
The probe continues.
