Police investigators from Georgetown have traveled to Linden to assist crime scene investigators there following the discovery of burnt remains that are suspected to be those of wanted man, Jamal Bourne, who shot himself to the head on Sunday live on Facebook while playing around with a gun.
In a statement this morning, the Guyana Police Force said a firearm and ammunition were also discovered at the scene in Wisroc, Linden. Four men and two women, ages 18 to 26, were also found at the scene and have been arrested.
The Guyana Police Force said the discovery was made last evening during an operation at Three Miles, Wisroc in Linden.
The Force said acting on information received, ranks from Regional Divisions #3 and #10 proceeded to the area where a search was conducted at a wooden structure situated in dense vegetation.
During the search, the Police said the ranks discovered a black and silver Taurus pistol with its serial number filed off. They also found with six (6) live .32 rounds of ammunition.
According to the statement, further searches revealed that a heap of burnt material was observed in close proximity to the wooden structure, and as a result, forensic experts have been deployed to the area to conduct further examinations and searches to determine the origin and nature of the material.
Those arrested at the scene and in custody are an 18-year-old male farmer of Yarrowkabra, Soesdyke–Linden Highway, an 18-year-old female of Bell West Housing Scheme, WBD, a 20-year-old male labourer of Beaver Street, North Ruimveldt, a 20-year-old male of Kaneville, EBD, A 21-year-old female of Samatta Point, Grove, EBD and a 26-year-old male farmer of Church Street, Georgetown

Police investigators remain on the scene where the discovery was made and the investigations are ongoing.
On Sunday, a live video appeared on Facebook showing two masked men playing around with guns while listening to music. One of the men, identified as Jamal Bourne, whose real name is said to be Immanuel Nurse, was seen placing a gun to his head while playing around, and firing off a fatal shot.
Screams were later heard just before the video ended. Another video recording that surfaced some time later showed the man’s bloodied body on the ground. A wanted bulletin was issued for his arrest in 2024 in relation to a murder case. He has been on the run since then.
