Campbell plans fresh approach and robust engagement with the public by APNU Parliamentary team

With the APNU set to take up its twelve seats in the National Assembly when the new  Parliament opens, the party’s Parliamentary lead, Terrence Campbell, is promising a fresh approach that will be marked by robust engagement and constituency work.

Appearing on the party’s Nation Watch programme on Sunday, Mr. Campbell said there should not be a disconnect between party’s public representatives and the people of Guyana. He said those gaps will be bridged in the coming years.

“You will see Parliamentarians working in constituency, I don’t expect what when we move to LGE and national elections that we will hear the cry from our supporters. And, we will be visiting Babu John and we will be visiting Anna Regina and we will be in Charity and Leonora, the APNU is a national party and there will be no place where we will be limited to geographically,” Mr. Campbell said.

Already, Campbell said work has started on the ground where the party’s perspective MPs have hit the road and are listening to the concerns of citizens.

He believes that much work is to be done, not just to win the support of his party faithfuls, but Guyanese at large.

To this end, he stated that APNU will use Parliament as a means to advance its agenda.

“I think when we go to Parliament and we advance that agenda which will benefit the people, if it is embraced, that the people of this country will know exactly what was our role in getting it done, bringing relief to them, bringing development and not just growth to them,” Campbell stated.

Mr. Campbell said he is humbled to lead the APNU’s Parliamentary team and is confident that the APNU’s contributions can turn the corner from the “disastrous” 2025 elections results.

The  APNU, which is led by the People’s National Congress Reform, had its worst showing at the recent elections, losing thousands of voters and not even being able to hold the position of main opposition party.
