For the second time within a month, fire has ravaged one of the complexes belonging to the Comfort Sleep Mattress company and fire officials and investigators are now raising eyebrows over the double disaster.
Four fire tenders rushed to the Eccles Industrial site location of the Comfort Sleep factory on Thursday evening after residents reported seeing heavy smoke bellowing from the manufacturing complex. The fire aided by the wind, quickly swept through the entire complex and threatened nearby buildings.
Relatives of the owners of the business were seen at the scene but refused to offer any comment.
Just last month, a fire of unknown origin gutted the storage bond for the same company on the same day that it was being highlighted in the local press as one of the success stories of Guyanese businesses.
That fire is still under investigation.
