Popular cosmetologist Onika Pompey has found herself before the Court again and this time she is facing charges related to derogatory statements she allegedly made about local singer and former soca monarch, Kwasi Ace Edmondson.

The 32-year-old woman appeared before the Chief Magistrate this morning where the charge was read to her.

It is alleged that between the 29^th October and the 8^th November 2021 in Georgetown, Pompey made several derogatory statements against Mr. Edmonson causing public ridicule.  The statements were allegedly made on social media, where she accused the singer of being an abuser and someone who had committed sexual assault. A report was made to the Police.

Pompey denied the allegations in Court today and was granted bail in the sum of $200,000. She was ordered to return to Court on the 27^th April for the continuation of the matter.
