Three persons lost their lives to the coronavirus disease in Guyana on Monday, taking the total number of deaths to 93.

A 38-year-old man, a 55-year-old retired male nurse and an 84-year-old woman were identified as the three latest fatalities. They were all from the Region 4 area.

The male nurse only retired from the Georgetown Hospital back in July after working there for 31 years. His colleagues remember him as a good friend and teacher.

The Ministry of Health also reported yesterday that the country also recorded 95 new cases of coronavirus, which took the number of active cases to 1,112 with 975 of those persons in home isolation.

The spread of the virus is taking place in a number of regions, with Regions 1, 4, and 7 remaining the hotspot regions for the current spread of the virus.
