Travel in and out of Regions 7,8 and 9 is now prohibited unless there is authorization granted by the Government for that travel. The international airports will also remain closed until the 31st August.

Curfew now 9pm to 5am; Travel prohibited to and from Regions 7,8 and 9

The Government of Guyana has updated the Health Emergency measures extending the measures until the 31st August.

Under the updated measures, the curfew hours have been adjusted and the curfew will now begin at 9pm and continue until 5am.

Travel in and out of Regions 7,8 and 9 is now prohibited unless there is authorization granted by the Government for that travel. The international airports will also remain closed until the 31st August.

Masks will continue to be required once persons venture out into the public and staff in the public and private sectors will continue to operate on a rotation shift system as will be instituted by the manager or head.

The hosting of parties and other public gathering events is also strictly prohibited. Cinemas, nightclubs, and bars will continue to remain closed.

Churches will continue to be allowed with no more than 25% of the capacity in attendance and obeying the other health guidelines as set out by the gazetted order.
