Digicel continues support of ACDA Emancipation Festival

At the simple hand over at the Digicel’s head office in Kingston, Events and Sponsorship Executive Louanna Abrams noted that “Digicel has been a proud sponsor of Emancipation Celebrations from the inception and this year is no different. We have pledged a significant sum to the general management and execution of the event which will feature Luciano as the performing artiste.”

Digicel continues support of ACDA Emancipation Festival

Digicel Guyana continues with its support of the Emancipation Celebrations organised by the African Cultural Development Assocaition.

The company recently handed over financial support to ACDA to aid in the Freedom Day celebrations.

At the simple hand over at the Digicel’s head office in Kingston, Events and Sponsorship Executive Louanna Abrams noted that “Digicel has been a proud sponsor of Emancipation Celebrations from the inception and this year is no different. We have pledged a significant sum to the general management and execution of the event which will feature Luciano as the performing artiste.”

Present at the hand over was Aisha Haynes, Emancipation Co-ordinator, who expressed her appreciation to Digicel for their continued support to the Emancipation Festival this year and over the past years.

Cultural development and sustainability is one aspect of Digicel’s under their mandate of Corporate Social Responsibility.

Over the past nine years of operations in Guyana, Digicel has pledged their support to Special Needs, Education, Cultural and Youth development and many other areas of development.

With the recent passage of the Telecoms Bill in the National Assembly, Digicel’s CEO Kevin Kelly commended the “laudable achievement” and noted that “a competitive sector and will result in many benefits in terms of new and improved services for the people of Guyana”.
