A 33-year-old Chemist, who worked as a Distillery Plant Manager at Demerara Distillers Limited, lost his life tragically late on Sunday night in an accident at Farm on the East Bank of Demerara.
The young man, Jason Bhojedat, was driving a small bus along the Farm Public Road when a speeding car slammed into the back of the bus, resulting in it flipping over several times before coming to a stop after hitting a utility pole.
Bhojedat was pulled from the wreck and taken to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. The entire accident was captured on video security surveillance from businesses and homes in the area. The driver of the car that caused the accident survived. It is unclear whether he suffered any major injuries.

The matter remains under Police investigations.
Bhojedat’s family and friends have been paying tribute across social media, describing him as a hard working and well-respected young man who was career driven.
One of his friends recalled that they last spoke on Sunday afternoon, and Bhojedat explained that he was at work at the time. Bhojedat also served multiple terms as the President of the St. Stanislaus Old Students Association.
