Less than 24hrs after he and his girlfriend were pulled from his car that ran off the road and was submerged in a canal at Friendship, deejay Shawn Lee aka Gaza Prince succumbed to his injuries this morning at the Georgetown Hospital.
The young deejay and his girlfriend were heading to his East Bank Demerara home on Sunday afternoon when he lost control of the car, hitting a concrete culvert and it flipping off the roadway, coming to a stop in the nearby canal.
The entire car with the couple trapped inside, was submerged upside down. A number of persons in the area jumped overboard and managed to break into the car as it sank deeper, and pulled the couple out.

Both the deejay and the young woman, Kimberly Agard were rushed to the Diamond Hospital with multiple injuries and later transferred to the Georgetown Hospital.
The Guyana Police Force said the deejay, who also worked at a local radio station, suffered injuries to his head and other parts of the body. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit and died just after 8 o’clock this morning without regaining consciousness.
The girlfriend remains a patient at the same hospital, but has been listed in a stable condition.
Deejay Gaza Prince, as he was popularly known along the East Bank Demerara corridor, is originally from Linden.
He moved to the East Bank a few years ago to develop his career as a deejay, and was growing and developing in the field, according to close friends.
The day before his tragic accident, the deejay hosted an all black party for his birthday titled, “Broken Days Are Over”.
