Fire that killed Bachelor’s Adventure woman was deliberately set -Fire Service

The Guyana Fire Service has determined that the fire at Bachelor’s Adventure which claimed the life of 50-year-old Nicola Marshall was deliberately set.

A suspect has not been identified.

In its statement, the Fire Service said it was summoned to the scene of the fire just before 1 pm on Wednesday and it dispatched a fire tender from its Melanie Fire Station

The house was a one-floor wooden structure that was occupied by two persons. The building and all of its contents were completely destroyed and one of the occupants, Nicola Marshall lost her life in the blaze.

The Guyana Fire Service said it would like to remind citizens that there are harsh penalties attached to arson attacks and once identified, perpetrators will face the full brunt of the law.  

The investigations into the deadly fire are ongoing with the Police also joining the probe.
