Five Police Officers on administrative leave as probe continues into “missing” $300 Million

Five Police Officers have been sent on administrative leave as the Special Organised Crime Unit continues to probe the alleged disappearance of $300 Million from the Finance Department of the Police Force.

The five Officers who have been sent on leave include Senior Officers.

Sources with knowledge of the probe have indicated that the issue may be related more to a misuse of funds or poor accounting of funds rather than theft.

The Police Force in a statement today said the investigation and audit of the Finance Department are both ongoing. According to the Police, those found to have committed any illegality will face the full force of the law.

While the probe is ongoing, a number of senior officers believe it was started to target specific Police Officers.

Some senior officers have indicated that the Force has been turning a blind eye to other complaints of misuse of funds of and fraudulent requests for payments by some officers.
