The new board will serve for a period of one year, with its term coming to an end at the end of November 2021.

Former Director of Medical Services at the Georgetown Hospital and current Director of the Yesu Persaud Clinical Education Center, Dr. Madan Rambarran has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.

The announcement was made today by the Ministry of Health.

The other members of the board are Chartered Accountant, Harryram Parmessar, Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Malcolm Watkins, Medical Association representative, Dr. Amarnauth Dukhi, Director of Medical Services at the Georgetown Hospital, Dr. Fawcett Jeffrey, Deputy UG Vice Chancellor Dr. Emanuel Cummings, Nurses Association representative Cleopatra Barkoye GPSU representative, Dawn Gardener and Georgetown Hospital CEO, retired Brigadier George Lewis.

The new board will serve for a period of one year, with its term coming to an end at the end of November 2021.

A Ministry of Finance representative is still to be named to the board at the Georgetown Hospital.
