Two men are in the custody of the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit after they were nabbed last evening with over 12 pounds of cocaine in their possession.
In a statement late last night, CANU announced the arrests of 43-year-old West Ruimveldt resident Devon Simon and 35-year-old Tucville resident Winston Hazel.
The two were reportedly busted with the five parcels of cocaine in a car during a CANU operation in the Tucville area.
CANU said the parcels of cocaine were found in the car and the two men were taken to CANU headquarters where additional tests confirmed that the substance in the parcels was cocaine.
The two were told of the offense of drug trafficking and booked in custody.
CANU said the seized cocaine has a street value of $6.5 million.
The two suspects are expected in Court before the end of the week.
