Gunman opens fire on home of man accused of being “Mr. Mudwata”

Investigations have been launched into a shooting incident last evening at the home of businessman and photographer Keron Bruce.

Bruce is currently before the Courts on cyber-crime charges on accusations that he is behind the online character, Mr. Mudwata.

He has repeatedly denied the claims.

In a video posted on his Facebook account, Bruce revealed that a lone gunman opened fire at his Eccles home, hitting a bus parked in his yard and the front of the house.

The shooting, which occurred just after 10:30pm on Tuesday has left Bruce and his family shaken. There were no injuries.

The businessman told News Source that a lone gunman who rode up in front of his house on a motorcycle, carried out the attack.

He said at least eight shots were fired at his home and vehicle by the gunman who hopped back on his motorcycle and rode away from the scene just after the shooting.

The police were contacted and investigators arrived at the scene moments after the incident, launching their probe.   Bruce said he is now very concerned about the safety of his family and security.

Keron Bruce

In April 2022, Keron Burce was charged with allegedly using a computer system to subject another person to public ridicule, contempt, hatred or embarrassment.

The charge was filed following investigations into a complaint by local reporter Leroy Smith about an online cartoon character show that goes under the name “Mudwata”.

The case is ongoing.  In a separate case, that is also ongoing, Bruce filed a $100 million lawsuit against social media commentator, Mikhail Rodrigues, who is known as the “Guyanese Critic” for allegedly linking him to the “Mudwata” character.
