In a matter of two days, Guyana’s Customs Anti Narcotics Unit has busted two men at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport with a quantity of cocaine pellets in their stomachs.

A St. Lucian national who was preparing to travel to London from Guyana was busted at the airport on Saturday by CANU agents with several cocaine pellets in his stomach. He has since been admitted to a local city hospital where he has started to pass the pellets out.

His arrest came hours before a Guyanese man who was preparing to board a New York bound flight was held at the airport with cocaine pellets in his stomach too. The two men are expected in court before the end of this week. The Guyanese man has also been admitted to a hospital to pass the pellets out.

News Source understands that the Guyanese man is close friends with the Guyanese hairdresser who was recently held at New York’s JFK airport with 105 cocaine pellets.

The two are also believed to be friends with the other Guyanese woman who was held in New York on Saturday night after she arrived there from Guyana with cocaine pellets in her stomach. She was admitted to a medical facility there to pass her pellets out.

Sources close to the investigations believe that all of the drug mules may be linked to a single supplier in Guyana.  Last week, two Guyanese men were held at an East Coast hotel with cocaine pellets. One of the men was caught swallowing the pellets.

Last week also, two St. Lucian women were held at the Cheddi Jagan Airport with cocaine formed in the shape of dildos in their vaginas. They have since pleaded guilty to their charges and have been sentenced to prison and fined.

From all appearances, CANU has been working closely with the US authorities on the recent drug busts at both the JFK Airport in New York and the Cheddi Jagan Airport in Guyana.
