Police investigators moved into the Haslington area this morning on the East Coast of Demerara after the body of a man was found in a trench in the community.
The dead man has been identified as 58-year-old David Gentle of Haslington.
According to the Police, based on information, Gentle was last seen alive around 1:30 this morning when he left a hang out bar in the community to go home.
His body was found just after 5 am with multiple chop wounds to the head and other parts of the body.
There has been no arrest and investigators have been left baffled since all of the man’s valuables were found at the scene.
Police investigators cordoned off the area as they started their investigations.
