The Guyana Police Force has launched an investigation into the shooting of a Kitty/Campbellville driver. The man, Devon Sears is currently a patient at a city hospital nursing the gunshot wound to his jaw.

According to a police report, the incident took place just before 7:00pm on Sunday while the man was traversing along Sheriff Street close to David Street. The shooter was a passenger in the bus.

Investigations believe the shooting may have been an execution attempt since the shooter posed as a passenger in the bus before whipping out the gun and firing shots in the direction of the driver.

Some persons who were in the bus at the time have provided statements to investigators.
