Motorbike bandit dies from injuries, accomplice still in hospital

One of the bandits who fell from a motorcycle and was run over by the relative of a woman who was robbed by them, has died.

The dead bandit has been identified as 28-year-old Trelon Munroe of New Amsterdam and Cummings Lodge. His accomplice who has been identified as Kevin David remains a patient of the Georgetown Hospital with several injuries. David is a member of the Guyana Coast Guard who has been Absence Without Leave.

According to the Police the woman was at her home at Cherry Field, LBI, ECD, when the two men rode up on a motorcycle with a firearm, and held her up.
 
They demanded a bag with cash that the woman had in her possession and as soon as she handed it over, they began their escape.  The woman’s husband was forced to retreat while rushing to her aid as the men open fire on him.
However, another relative jumped into his motorcar and gave chase behind the two men. The two robbers lost control and toppled off of their speeding motorcycle while trying to escape and was ran over by the relative driving the car. They were accosted and held as the police arrived and arrested them.
