Peru national remanded to jail for overstaying time in Guyana

A national of Peru was today remanded to prison, after he was charged for overstaying his time time in Guyana.

52-year-old, Manuel Fernandez, made his first appearance before Chief Magistrate, Ann Mclennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The charge stated that Fernandez was granted a stay in Guyana from March 4th to June 3rd, but instead he overstayed that period between June 4th and September 10th.

Fernandez denied the allegation, but was remanded to prison and will make his next court appearance in the Lethem Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
