People’s National Congress Chairperson Volda Lawrence is expected to face the Court again tomorrow as the Police intend to file additional charges against her in relation to allegations of fraud at the 2020 elections.

Just last week, Ms. Lawrence faced two counts of conspiracy to defraud in relation to the 2020 elections and the declaration of results by the Region Four Returning Officer. Those results were set aside as a recount took place.

The former Government Minister has declared her innocence of the charges which she believes are politically motivated by the government.

Lawrence was requested to visit the CID Headquarters again today and it was after some questioning, she was told to report to Court tomorrow to face the new charges.

Election Agent for the PNC Reform Carol Smith was also questioned today by the Police and has also been told to attend Court tomorrow to face the charges.

It is suspected that Lawrence will face a charge of forgery while Smith will face a conspiracy charge.

It’s the same two charges that the Police investigators have been using against other persons accused of being involved in the alleged electoral fraud.

Both Lawrence and Smith are being represented by Attorney Nigel Hughes.
