A policeman who hit down and ran over a 61-year-old woman while reversing a Police vehicle early this morning, has been served with notice of intended prosecution.
The accident which occurred at around 6 o’clock this morning was captured on surveillance video recordings from the Mon Repos area.
A statement from the Police said the driver was reversing along the Main Access Road at Mon Repos, when he collided with the woman and ran over her.
Luckily, some persons in the area raised an alarm, forcing the driver to stop. The woman was pulled out from under the Police pick-up and rushed to the Hospital in the same vehicle. She was treated for her injuries and eventually discharged.
The Police said investigations are ongoing, but the Police Detective Constable who was driving the vehicle at the time, has been served with notice of intended prosecution.
