The Guyana Police Force today issued a wanted bulletin for 44-year-old, Johnathon Mahadeo for the murder of 30-year-old, West Coast Demerara resident, Toralpher Simon Harry aka “Harry Makaveli”.
The 30-year-old father of two was stabbed to death on Sunday morning by Mahadeo during a row near a food stand on the Vreed-en-hoop Public Road.
The Police today said the wanted man’s last known address was listed as 51 New Road Vreed-en-hoop, West Coast Demerara.
A Police report on the murder stated that Toralpher Simon Harry was in the company of another friend heading home from a show at around 3 o’clock on Sunday morning when they stopped at a hot dog stand to get something to eat.
The friend reported that while they were waiting to make the purchase, Harry and the man identified as Johnathon Mahadeo got into an argument that quickly escalated into a scuffle.
The eyewitness reported that the scuffle ended up on the other side of the road where Mahadeo was seen armed with a knife.
Harry reportedly attempted to fight the man off with his belt, but was seen clutching to his neck with blood pouring, as the suspect escaped in a mini-bus.
Surveillance video recordings of the incident captured Harry stepping away from his attacker, and moving away from the area, but the man continued to advance towards him, eventually stabbing him to the neck.
The injured 30-year-old was rushed to the West Demerara Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The Police said a stab wound was noticed to the left side of his neck.
The suspect is still to be apprehended and a number of other persons who witnessed the incident have been questioned.
Investigations are ongoing.
