An intelligence-led Police operation in New Amsterdam today has led to the seizure of a shotgun, with over 200 rounds of ammunition and 98 pounds of marijuana.

The Police said six persons, including a 17-year-old boy, have been arrested in connection with the bust.

A statement from the Police said that during the operation, the lawmen seized an unlicensed 12-gauge shotgun, along with 125 twelve-gauge cartridges, nineteen .32 rounds of ammunition, forty-nine (49) Geco .30ml carbine ammunition, forty-one 9mm ammunition and fifty- eight thousand dollars (Guyana currency).

The Police said a total of 98 pounds of marijuana was also found.

Investigations are ongoing, as other suspects related to the bust are being sought.
