Self confessed death squad member and former murder accused Sean Hinds is wanted by the Guyana Police Force for questioning into his surveillance of the private residence of Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo.

Two weeks ago, the security detail attached to the Prime Minister noticed a strange car parked close by the Prime Minister’s North Sophia house and Sean Hinds was identified as the occupant of the car. As the security approached, the car sped away.

A check of the car’s license plate number revealed that the particular number belonged to a car with a different colour.

Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo confirmed today that a report was filed at the Sparendaam Police Station over the incident.

“We alerted the Police and since then, they have been trying to contact Sean Hinds and so I think it is out of that incident that there is a heightened police interest in Sean Hinds. “

Earlier this week, Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum confirmed that Sean Hinds was wanted by the Police for investigations into a “serious offense”.

While the Crime Chief never explained the nature of the serious offense, it is now believed that he was referring to the stake out by Hinds at the Prime Minister’s residence.

Over the past few days Sean Hinds has been appearing on the evening newscasts distancing himself from the murder of political activist Courtney Crum-Ewing, while admitting that he was a member of the death squad which is believed to be responsible for the gunning down of a number of criminal suspects during the crime wave of 2002/2003.
