Smyth Street man gunned down in early morning execution

The incident reportedly took place just after 3:30 this morning. According to reports he was inside his yard when a lone gunman dressed in a hooded tee-shirt shot him multiple times about the body.

Police investigators have arrested one man following the early Saturday morning gunning down of Smyth Street, Charlestown resident, Oriley Small.

The incident reportedly took place just after 3:30 this morning.  According to reports he was inside his yard when a lone gunman dressed in a hooded tee-shirt shot him multiple times about the body.

Family members said he was out earlier in the night at a nightspot and had just returned home when he was attacked and executed. Moments before he was shot, a relative said they heard him shouting “hey boy move from deh”.

Police A’ Division Commander, Asst. Commissioner Clifton Hicken confirmed to News Source that one man has been taken in to custody “based on information” following the shooting.

He said investigators are on the ground continuing their probe.   Family members and neighbours are expected to be questioned this morning.

The probe continues.
