Soesdyke businessman gunned down during home invasion by bandits

53-year-old businessman, Terrence Dickie, was shot dead early this morning as four bandits attacked his Soesdyke home.

The bandits reportedly made off with a sum of money.

A Police report said the businessman, his wife and two other relatives were at home when the gunmen invaded the house at around 12:30 this morning.

The gunmen reportedly woke up the man’s 18-year-old nephew and took him to the uncle’s room at gunpoint to request that the uncle opens the door to his room.

When the businessman opened the door, a scuffle ensured between him and one of the armed suspects and it was during that scuffle that he was shot to the chest. The gunmen ransacked the house before making their escape with a quantity of money.

The businessman was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Police investigation found that the bandits gained entry to the house through a window in the bottom flat.

An investigation is underway.
