Two deejays who were performing at around 6 am today told investigators that they heard two to three loud explosions which caused the crowd to run and disperse. They immediately ended their performance and left the scene.

Tiger Bay youth shot dead at Lodge J’ouvert jam

Three persons have been arrested by the Police as they probe the shooting death of a 27-year-old Tiger Bay, Cummingsburg youth at a j’ouvert party early this morning.

The dead youth has been identified as Dale Christopher aka “Sun Skull”. He was in the company of friends at around 6 o’clock this morning at the roadside party in Lodge when he was shot dead. The man left his home just after 1 o’clock this morning to attend the event, according to family members.

Although there is a curfew in effect and permission is not being granted for parties and social gatherings, the Police Force reported that the roadside event in Hill Street Lodge had over 500 persons in attendance.

A taxi driver who was driving along Mandela Avenue told the Police that three men rushed to his car carrying the body of the young man and asked to be taken to the hospital. They all rushed to the hospital in the taxi where Doctors pronounced Dale Christopher dead on arrival.

Police investigators found a single gunshot wound on the man’s body in the area of his abdomen.

A 40-year-old man from East La Penitence is the main suspect in the shooting death. Several other persons have been questioned. The probe continues.
