The Labour Minister also said the significant reduction in work place deaths is as a result of programmes and policies instituted by the Labour Ministry through its Occupation, Safety and Health Department.

But he noted however, that the issue is not a matter of statistics, since every time someone is killed on the job, it’s an entire family that is affected.

Minister Hamilton said the Labour Ministry will continue to establish work place Health and Safety Committees  both in private and public sectors.
