The Court heard that the three junior ranks, 26-year-old Trevor McKenzie, 42-year-old Shawn McFoy, 27 -year-old Ray Saul along with Assistant Superintendant 48- year- old Terrence Browne corruptly collected an inducement of $6 million for not detaining bus carrying the cocaine and its occupants.

They all pleaded not guilty to the joint charge.

While the three junior ranks were remanded, Browne was granted $250,000 bail and ordered leave his passport with the police.

The matter was adjourned until October 12 and transferred to the Whim Magistrate’s Court.

According to reports reaching News Source, the ranks were reportedly carrying out a road block at Whim on the Corentyne Coast when they intercepted a mini-bus with the cocaine.

The bus had three occupants and they were all detained along with the cocaine until the $6 Million was handed over.

Once the money was passed over, the policemen allegedly allowed the occupants of the bus and the cocaine to continue on with their journey to the Surinamese border area.

News Source understands that at least two well-known drug pushers in Georgetown and in the Berbice area are linked to the cocaine that was found in the bus and it was the two drug pushers who reportedly paid the $6 Million in hush money over to the policemen.
