The Parika man who is the main suspect in the murder of his reputed wife has been caught and will face charges this week.
The man, Ganesh Dhanraj, had been on the run since allegedly strangling the woman to death last week.
The body of 29-year-old, Dhanwantie Ram, was found with a sheet wrapped around her neck.
Relatives said she had shared a very abusive relationship with the man and had only just recently moved out of their house, when her body was found in the same house.
On the same day that her body was found, she was on her way to the Police station when the reputed husband forced her to go back to his house.
The man was seen running from the house moments before the body of his reputed wife was discovered. The couple reportedly had an argument in the lead up to her death.
Police cornered him yesterday at a relative’s home and he jumped into a trench as the Police ranks were moving in. They opened fire behind him and he was hit. He hurried out of the trench and turned himself over to the Police.
