Drama unfolded at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court this morning as one of the three persons accused in the murder of the two elderly women back in November, collapsed and fainted during a hearing.
The three accused were in the Courtroom of Principal Magistrate, Judy Latchman this morning as evidence was being offered in the preliminary inquiry.
It was during the testimony of one of the accused,Imran Khan, that another accused, Phillip Suffrein started to loudly declare his innocence, telling the Court that he has a young son and did not murder the two women.
As efforts were being made to bring order to the Court, an exhausted Suffrein collapsed, forcing Court officials to summon paramedics as he was taken from the Courtroom.
When an ambulance arrived, the young man was whisked off to a nearby hospital under Police guard.
A post-mortem examination revealed that both women were strangled to death. Arrests were made in the case just days after during a widespread probe by the Police investigators, who received assistance in their probe with the provision of nearby security video recordings.
