Man in Antigua charged and remanded over death of visiting Guyanese girlfriend

A 24-year-old man in Antigua and Barbuda, has been charged over the death of 19-year-old Guyanese, Joyleen Abraham. The two reportedly shared a relationship.

The young woman was found dead on the 7th May along a roadside in Antigua with multiple injuries to her body. The 24-year-old boyfriend, Victor Ince, told investigators that the young lady had jumped from his car while he was driving.

The young woman was pronounced dead on the spot and based on the injuries on her body, a full investigation was launched. The investigation resulted in a decision to charge the 24-year-old for unlawful confinement and killing.

He made his appearance in Court where the charges were laid against him. He was remanded to prison until the 17th of September when the matter will continue.

19-year-old Joyleen Abraham arrived in Antigua to meet up with the boyfriend days before her death.
