Enmore labourer murdered over loud music complaint

A complaint late night about loud music turned deadly for a 40-year-old man after he was attacked, beaten and stabbed by his wife’s sister and her husband.

According to a Police report, labourer Albert Raghu and his wife lived in the bottom flat of a house at Enmore while the wife’s sister and the sister’s husband lived in the upper flat.

On Sunday night, Raghu returned home at around 11:30 and was told by his wife about her repeated complaints about the loud music that her sister and brother-in-law had been playing all night despite her complaints.

An angry Raghu armed himself with a cutlass to confront his sister-in-law and her husband in the yard, but he was disarmed by the two.

The Police report said while the sister-in-law choked Raghu, her husband repeatedly stabbed him to the side of his abdomen.

He was badly injured and rushed to the hospital and admitted in a critical condition. Raghu passed away this morning just after 5:30.

The 29-year-old sister in law and her 40-year-old husband have since been arrested for the murder.

Investigations are ongoing.
