The Guyana Police Force said it discovered a marijuana farm in the Upper Berbice River area earlier this week with more than 10 acres of marijuana plants in addition to already cultivated marijuana.

The discovery was made during a joint operation with the Guyana Defence Force in the area.

The operation took place in Upper Berbice River community of Gaetroy. It was launched based on a tip off, but by the time the Police and the GDF team got to the site, it was already abandoned.

All of the marijuana found along with the farm, a wooden house and two camps were completely destroyed by the Police.
