A 59-year-old Prashad Nagar resident is in the custody of the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit after he was busted on Mandela Avenue with a quantity of marijuana.

In a statement, CANU revealed that its agents intercepted the man, Ignatius Mann, on Tuesday at a gas station and decided to carry out a search of his motorcycle.

A quantity of marijuana was found stashed in the motorcycle and a subsequent search of the man’s Prashad Nagar home revealed a number of bottles with marijuana stashed in them.

In total, CANU agents said they discovered 174 grams of marijuana in the man’s possession.

An investigation has been launched and charges could be filed by Friday.
