An ex-Policeman turned suspected gang leader who was recently charged with discharging a loaded firearm, was shot this afternoon by the Police during an operation along the East Bank Demerara corridor.

The man, Teon Allen aka Spoil child was shot after reportedly pointing a gun at a police patrol that was chasing behind the car he was driving.  

Two other ex-policemen were arrested in the car with Allen. They are all in custody this evening as part of a police investigation.

The police operation came to an end when the car being driven by  Allen ran off the road and slammed into a fence at the Rahaman’s turn, Houston.

The vehicle was surrounded by police officers.  Allen is believed to be part of a criminal gang that has been haunting the East Bank corridor and is also linked to gang activities in the Linden area.
