Wismar man chopped to death after attacking wife’s brothers

A 56-year-old man from Wismar, Linden was chopped to death on Saturday afternoon during a fight with two of his wife’s brothers.

A Police statement indicated that on Saturday afternoon, John Jones got into a row with his wife, and the woman called her two brothers to assist her in moving out of the man’s house along with her children.

When the brothers got to the house, Jones was seen at the front of his yard with two cutlasses in his hands.

The man reportedly rushed towards the two brothers, slashing one to the back of his head and the other one across the face.

The injured brothers managed to relieve the man of the two cutlasses and attacked him in retaliation, repeatedly chopping him to the body.

The woman and her children ran away from the scene, as one of the two injured brothers reported the matter to the Police, while the other one went to the hospital for emergency care.

Both brothers were eventually admitted to the Linden Hospital, nursing the chop wounds inflicted by the sister’s husband.

The Police said John Jones’ lifeless body was discovered in his yard with multiple chop wounds. A post-mortem examination is to be carried out on his remains in the new week.

The two injured brothers of the dead man’s wife, remain hospitalised under Police guard.
