After being in isolation for over three weeks, a 105-year-old resident of the Palms Geriatric Home has made a full recovery from the coronavirus.

The elderly woman was among the group of residents diagnosed with the disease back in May.

Following the positive tests, the Covid-19 cases at the Government managed home for the elderly were moved to the institution’s infirmary and a special ward. Doctors and nurses were posted at the home to support the health care workers who are based there.

In a statement, the Ministry of Social Protection which overlooks the management of the Palms, said three other residents have also made full recoveries but have not yet been reintegrated with other residents.

The Palms recorded its first case of the Coronavirus on the 5th May when an elderly male resident passed away. The other cases were recorded two weeks later.

All of the cases at the Palms have been residents. Tests have been continuously done on staff members and other residents and those tests continue to be negative.
