A 25-year-old security guard attached to the KGM Security Service has been arrested over the shooting death of a 34-year-old Cuban national in the Real Value Supermarket on Sunday morning.

The dead Cuban national has been identified as Pedro Alexander Frometa Slonchak. The incident took place at around 9:47 on Sunday morning.

A Police report of the incident stated that the security guard, who was on duty at the supermarket, told investigators that he approached the Cuban national in the supermarket after noticing him repeatedly entering and leaving the business place.

He told investigators that when he attempted to question the man, the man held onto him and a scuffle began between them as the man was armed with a knife. According to the Police, the security guard reported that he was able to disarm the man and stabbed him with the same knife to his right shoulder and the head.

He claimed that after stabbing the man, he drew his firearm and discharged six rounds at the man, hitting him four times to the body. The 34-year-old man collapsed and died at the scene. The Police and emergency services were summoned, as well as supervisors attached to the KGM Security company.
