The Pfizer vaccine which was only being made available to children between the ages of 12 and 18 and pregnant women, will now be available to anyone who needs to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
Health Minister Dr. Frank Anthony made the announcement this morning during his daily COVID-19 update.
He said anyone who would like to get the Pfizer vaccine can visit the Ministry of Health or a Health Centre in their area.
The Minister said the Ministry of Health is now in the process of training nurses to administer the Pfizer vaccine to children between the ages of 5 and 11-years-old.
The Health Ministry is hoping to begin administering that vaccine to young children from later this week.
Guyana received two large shipments of the Pfizer vaccine a few weeks ago.
