Addressing the opening of the Annual Officer’s Conference, Brigadier Khan said the conference will deliberate on the GDF’s preparation to address present and future challenges.
“Commander in Chief I can assure you that we the men and women in uniform, of the Guyana Defence Force have remain vigilant and militant and will continue to do so, and do not contemplate being nothing less. “For Guyana, even with our diverse growth polls, positioning us to withstand global shocks, it is envisaged, challenges for our country’s national defence and development will continue and would therefore demand our constant attention,” Bridgaiger Khan said.
He said amid challenges last year, the GDF was able to rise to the challenges it faced. But the greatest of them all he said continue to be the threat from the country’s Western neighbor.
“And then, amidst all these challenges, the constant and uncruplous claims to our territory from an increasily unstable neighbor, continues to present a clear and present danger too close to home,” the Chief of Defence staff SASOD.
He said the army will be deliberating on its operational posture for 2025 with key emphasis on integrating combat services unit.
