Caribbean Airlines service returning to state of normalcy

Officials of Caribbean Airlines have indicated that the airline’s services to many of its destinations are returning to a state of normalcy, even in the height of ongoing complaints from affected passengers.

The airline announced today that many of its flights were back on schedule, although the ferrying out of the affected passengers was ongoing, with the support of special charter flights.

The airline said the recovery flights will continue and passengers should constantly check the company’s website and social media pages for regular updates.

On Sunday, the airline’s operations were severely crippled when almost all of its pilots called in sick. Over two dozen flights were cancelled on Sunday alone and several others were cancelled on Monday.

Early Monday morning, the airline was granted an injunction by the Industrial Court in Trinidad and Tobago, which ordered the pilots back to work. By that time, however, Caribbean Airlines started the operation of the spacial recovery charter flights to get the affected passengers to their destinations.
