An argument between a Corriverton couple ended deadly when 40-year-old, Bindrawattie Sumwar, was brutally stabbed to death by her reputed husband.
The incident took place just before 5:00pm on Tuesday at the couple’s Corriverton, Berbice home.
A police report stated that the two got involved in a heated domestic argument and the husband grabbed a cutlass and started to chop the woman about her body.
Persons in the area said the two would have regular arguments, but neighbours never expected it would have become deadly.
The woman was rushed to the Skeldon Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
The suspect has since been arrested and is in police custody. He is to be charged with his wife’s murder before the end of the week.
