A local cosmetologist who may have dabbled with powder than was not the foundation is in the hospital being forced to excrete cocaine pellets.
The woman, 37-year-old Natasha Blair, was arrested at the Cheddi Jagan Airport on Monday night as she was preparing to board a New York bound flight. She was traveling with her 11-month-old baby who has since been handed over to family members.
According to the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit, Blair was on her way to the departure area when she was intercepted by CANU ranks and taken to a City Hospital. The ranks may have been acting on information received.
At the hospital, an x-ray examination was done and it revealed small pellet like packages in her digestive system as well as a larger object that was inserted in her vagina.
The large object in her vagina was removed and found to be cocaine. With regards to the items spotted in her digestive track, she has since excreted three cocaine filled pellets. Blair remains a patient at a city hospital as she is expected to pass out additional pellets of cocaine.
In its statement, CANU said it is now looking for the woman’s boyfriend, who has been identified as Sherwin Stoby aka “Kong” from the Roxanne Burnham Gardens area.
