The Guyana Police Force has announced the arrest of three Lindeners who are set to face charges for setting fire to the Linden GECOM office one year ago.

In its statement on Thursday night, the Police claim that two of the suspects, 23-year-old Teon February and 21-year-old Marlon Hunter have confessed to the crime during a video-recorded interview.

The Police statement said the two men implicated the third man, Bryon Kendall, who it is alleged offered to pay them 150,000 to set fire to the GECOM office at Wismar.

According to the Police, one of the suspects said the man provided them with a bottle of gas and took them to the building, and waited nearby until the building was set ablaze.

The Police statement also claimed that there was an explosion when the building was set alight and the two suspects received burns to their feet.

The money was allegedly paid over to the men in two installments by the man who allegedly hired them to commit the crime.

That man, Bryon Kendall also remains in custody and the Police say they are now on the hunt for the intellectual author behind the crime.

Outside the purported confession, the Police Force has not indicated whether it has any other evidence linking the men to the arson.
