COVID-19 death toll inches up to 130

For the second straight day, Guyana recorded two more COVID-19 deaths. Four deaths have been recorded in the first three days of this month, taking the total number of deaths in the country to 130.

According to the Ministry of Health, the two latest victims are a 77-year-old woman from Region Two and a 92-year-old man from Region One.

No other details were provided on the two persons.

The COVID-19 Death toll has been climbing steadily in the past two months even as the Ministry of Health continues its silence on the issue.

The Ministry of Health is now moving to finalize all preparations at the Infectious Diseases Hospital at Lilliendaal to accommodate additional positive cases. While just 7 new cases were recorded today, the total number of active cases in the country still stands at more than 750.
