An early Sunday morning fire at Sister’s Village on the West Bank of Demerara has completely gutted three  houses leaving over 10 persons homeless.

According to persons who live in the area, the fire may have started just after 1 am on Sunday and quickly moved through the wooden houses, forcing occupants to run out of the homes for their lives. The fire service could do very little to extinguish the blazed which was aided by early morning winds.

An investigation is underway as details unfold.
