Police in the Cuyuni region are probing the murder of a 30-year-old gold miner who was found with multiple stab wounds to his body.
The dead man has been identified as Teo Max James. He is originally from the West La Penitence area in Georgetown.
The incident occurred on Monday evening at a mining camp at Blackwater Crusher in the Cuyuni River, according to the Police.
The suspect has only been identified as “Tall Man”.
According to the Police, the investigations have so far revealed that the two men were sharing a relationship with the same woman. It is believed that the love triangle may have led to a disagreement that resulted in the murder.
The dead man’s body has been taken to the Bartica Regional Hospital Mortuary and is awaiting a post-mortem.
The suspect remains on the run.
