Local telecommunications giants, GTT today announced the confirmation of Justin Nedd as the Chief Executive Officer of the company.
Mr. Nedd was formerly the company’s Chief Financial Officer and has been acting in the Interim CEO capacity since June of this year, following the resignation of RK Sharma.
In a statement, the GTT board said “Justin Nedd has proven his ability to lead GTT in an exciting new direction for the company’s customers and employees. Together with a fantastic executive team of Chief Technical Officer Russell Davis and Chief Commercial Officer Gert Post, Justin is steering a strong path for the company – new services and even better value plans, new and advanced network investments, new capabilities to further improve customer service, and an exciting new brand proposition to continually Do More for the company’s customers. Justin brings the right balance of relentless customer focus, executional rigor and infectious optimism required to lead GTT in delivering the best and most compelling communications services in Guyana”.
The new CEO has described his appointment as an honour and promises to continue pushing development and better service from the company. He said “this is a true honuor to be entrusted with the leadership of such an important company in Guyana and at such an exciting time. We have made a brand promise to our customers and to the country to “Do More” and we are doing so every day. From our upgrades to new blazing-fast Internet speeds earlier this year to our new-look retail store opening at the Giftland Mall in the past weeks, GTT is a company that is on the move. The best is yet to come!”
Just recently, Nedd announced that several new outlet stores will be opened in the coming months as the company prepares for liberalisation.
The company sees the approaching new year as another year of exciting new offers and capabilities, further establishing GTT as the best provider of wireless, broadband, home voice and other services in Guyana.
According to the new CEO, “we are also optimistic in our belief that 2016 will be the year that market players are provided the spectrum required to offer advanced wireless services on par with the other countries in the region. We can’t wait to bring these capabilities to our customers.”
